1853 Letter from Consular Belgrade, correctly franked with 9 kr, 1st issue for Pest. The stamp is cancelled with the BELGRADE consular cancel with the date below. only the consulate in Belgrade had the right to use stamps in krajcars, unlike all others who used issues in soldi. The use of stamps in the Belgrade consulate stopped in 1854. Letters were paid for in cash with the "franco" mark. This letter is extremely rare for the few years that the letters were franked, only 5 of them are known with this stamp 9 kr from the Belgrade consulate. Srbija u to vreme nije imala saobraæaj sa inostranstvom (period predfilatelije) pa je poštanski saobraæaj upuèen iskljuèivo preko austriskog komzulata u beogradu. Ovaj recepis je sa dolaznim žigom BELGRAD okrugao sa datumom i pismo je uruèeno Nikoli markoviæu a ovaj recepis potpisan je vraæen u Prag. JEDINI POZNATI RECEPIS SA ŽIGPM KONZULARNE POŠTE U BEOGRADU. 1860 The return recipies send to Belgrade with a letter from Prague, Franked Austrian stamp of 10 kr the issue with Impera face turned to the left. At that time, Serbia had no comunication with foreign countries (pre-philatelic period) so the postal traffic was send exclusively through the Austrian Conulat in Belgrade. This receipt was with an incoming rounded cancel of Belgrade with the date and the letter was delivered to Nikola Markovic and this receipt was signed and returned to Prague.
